For example, if I wanted to use an Indiana Jones font or some other type of movie font, I would just do a search on this site. Sure, not all of them are the best quality, but I usually go to this site if I’m looking for a font to use with a particular look or theme. DaFont There are a lot of fonts on this site.FontFabric They have a great freebie section with lots of nice fonts to download. You can also download their fonts as kits and they also have a generator. Font Squirrel This is a great website with tons of high-quality fonts that are mostly compatible.Although the fonts are free, I’m sure they would love your support so maybe donate a few dollars to them. Lost Type I just recently stumbled upon this website and they have lots of great fonts that are available for download.I would suggest following them on Twitter or subscribing to their feed as well. The League of Moveable Type This website has a great collection of free fonts including League Gothic, which has really become popular.Beautiful High-Quality Free Fonts For Your Designs. 40+ Excellent Freefonts For Professional Design. By the way, a lot of the free fonts on these sites can also be used for implementation as well. Some of them are paid, but a lot of them are free! First of all, I suggest investing in some of the best typefaces out there but I also suggest that you take advantage of the free resources that can be found online.Īnyway, I just want to share with you some of my favorite websites to obtain some high-quality typefaces that you can immediately start using on your projects. I’ve received several messages and emails asking me about fonts that I use on some of my design projects. I’ve been meaning to write this post but just haven’t had the time to do so. The team over at Sucker Punch clearly took great care to ensure that the lip-sync for the Japanese cast is perfectly matched up, so if you play Ghost of Tsushima in Japanese, this is really a no-brainer to have. I personally did not play either the PS4 or the PS5 version in Japanese, but my partner did, and after watching them play the game, the difference between the base game lip-sync and the PS5 version is night and day. The final addition for the PS5 version of the Director’s Cut is the improved Japanese lip-sync. Since the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, I struggle to play games at 30fps anymore, so I’d say that the frame increase is an easy win for all of the changes made in the Director’s Cut me. Still, for the average player, you really won’t notice a single difference if you play the entire game on higher resolution.Īs Ghost of Tsushima was always a highly stylized game as opposed to a graphical powerhouse title, a 4K graphical was never going to be the game-changer that people were expecting it to be, the real star here for me is the switch from 30 to 60fps, and on the PS5 it is buttery smooth. I’m sure if you watch a comparison video online, you’ll see frame drops in the single-digit that you won’t see with the naked eye. Personally, I find this option to be a bit needless because after playing the entire game from start to finish and platinum it again (the hard way), I didn’t notice any frame rate issues. Players can also choose between higher resolution at the cost of frames per second or higher performance, which will lower the game’s visual fidelity if the frame rate starts taking a hit. I only hope that as more games come out for the PS5, the player base will get more experiences tailored to the advanced features of this controller as it is easily one of the bigger selling points for the PS5.Īnother improvement brought in with the PS5 version is the 4K graphical update that fans have been asking for since the release of the PS5. Certain interactable elements in the environment also give you this immersive feeling of resistance that really shows off what’s special about the DualSense controller. The real star of the DualSense in the Director’s cut is the Haptic triggers when using bows or the blowpipe drawing back the string on the longbow gives the player a real sense of resistance. I’m unsure if this is designed or a glitch, but either way, a half-functioning feedback system is more immersion-breaking than not having one. For example, when riding your horse over ice, every 3rd gallop is actually felt while the rest are completely devoid of feedback. What I mean by that is either you barely feel most of the feedback from the controller, or you don’t feel any at all. Each gallop of your horse as you trek across fields of long grass and over sandy beaches and, for the most part, the game succeeds, but it often feels like the feedback that the controller gives has been turned all the way down. Ideally, the Dualsense implementation is supposed to increase your immersion in the land of Tsushima, with the player being able to feel each sword strike. Starting with the PS5 upgrades for the Director’s Cut, the newest feature that players will likely pay the most attention to is the added DualSense functionality. Price: £20/$20 DLC addon, £9/$10 for the PS5 upgrade Platform(s): PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Game Name: Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut If you wish to read our review of the original release, please click here for the full review. Instead, I’ll be covering the Iki Island expansion and the PS5 changes made to the game. In the base game review, I covered the core gameplay and world of the main game, so I won’t be going over it again in this review. While games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla were boring you with a massive map with nothing worth doing at all, Cyberpunk showing that consumers won’t tolerate a broken game anymore and Phoenix Rising proving that copying a popular open-world game with none of the heart will result in a mediocre experience, Ghost of Tsushima was busy showing the world that excellent gameplay, a stunning environment and a more compact open world can deliver one of the most satisfying experiences without having to reinvent the wheel in the process. This is amazing when you consider that it didn’t alter the formula much compared to other games of its type. When Ghost of Tsushima was released in 2020, it was a surprisingly fresh take on the open-world genre of games. One of the most beautiful games of 2020 just got better. The final key assumption is that the time period stated in financial reporting is accurate. The organization can choose to report in any currency it chooses – unless it is a public company reporting for American investors – but the currency has to be used consistently throughout the financial report. All amounts are listed in the same currency, meaning that an international company cannot report results in a combination of dollars, euros, dinars, sterling or any currencies used in the countries in which the company operates. That length of foreseeable future is at least one year.Ī third key assumption is that amounts listed in the organization’s financial statements are stated in terms of a stable currency. The second key assumption is that the business is a going concern, and will be for the foreseeable future. This means that all of the figures shown in the organization’s financial reports are specific only to that organization, that no other separate business entity is obligated to contribute to the organization or can lay claim to the business’ bottom line revenues. The first key assumption comprising GAAP is that the business entity is separate and distinct from all others. Reporting according to GAAP provides a measure of uniformity so that those examining financial statements have a foundation from which to compare performance to another period or another company, or develop financial ratios that use specific GAAP-defined quantities.Įven though there is no overseeing authority, GAAP depends on a rule of four in terms of key assumptions, basic principles and basic constraints. Rather, GAAP represents a collection of broad concepts and detailed practices that represent best accounting practices as it is accepted at a given time, and often within a specific industry. GAAP is not necessarily a collection of rules and guidelines, though GAAP uses those. GAAP is the abbreviation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. I felt in love with this amp and recommend it for those who want to practise at home or to play at small gigs. Just like its sound, the look of this amp combo is unmistakably VOX. Customer Reviews this amp is really tops. For this reason, the AC10 has become a highly coveted piece of VOX history since its discontinuation in 1965. What I think of this amp: - It has the top boost Vox. Despite its small size, however, it has enough power to accommodate medium-sized venues, especially when connected to an extra speaker cabinet. 730 42 I picked up one of these Vox AC10s on a whim and couldnt be happier. The AC10 was one of the first amplifiers to bear the VOX name and has long been adored for his ability to achieve rich, articulate tube tone at very manageable volumes. The AC15 was just a bit too heavy and cumbersome to move around and I found a great deal on a used AC10. Thanks to its compact VX10 Custom 10-inch speaker, this amp's dimensions make it easy to carry and transport. Just like its counterparts, this Limited Edition AC10C1-TN is equipped with the brand's well-known Top Boost circuitry, which is responsible for that typical VOX sound. AC10C1-TN Limited Edition: familiar sound With its trusted recipe of two 12AX7 preamp tubes and an EL84 power amp tube, this VOX amp can deliver a truly delectable sound. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience. All the flavor of a post-apocalyptic setting-plagues, class warfare, maniacal soldiers-escalates to greater complexity while leaving space for further worldbuilding in the sequel.A mysterious island. Their voices are distinct and richly drawn, from Day’s self-deprecating affection for others to June's Holmesian attention to detail. In alternating first-person narratives, Day and June experience coming-of-age adventures in the midst of spying, theft and daredevil combat. When tragedies strike both their families, the two brilliant teens are thrown into direct opposition. He's also the Republic's most wanted criminal, prone to stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Day, on the other hand, is an anonymous street rat, a slum child who failed his own Trial. She looks forward to the day when she can join up and fight the Republic’s treacherous enemies east of the Dakotas. June is rich and brilliant, the only candidate ever to get a perfect score in the Trials, and is destined for a glowing career in the military. Still, it's wonderfully refreshing to see a heroine using her brain to win a war rather than strapping on a sword and charging into battle.ĭespite the stale fat-to-curvy pattern, compelling world building with a Southern European, pseudo-Christian feel, reminiscent of Naomi Kritzer's Fires of the Faithful (2002), keeps this entry fresh.Ī gripping thriller in dystopic future Los Angeles.įifteen-year-olds June and Day live completely different lives in the glorious Republic. Elisa’s "mountainous" body shrivels away when she spends a month on forced march eating rat, and thus she is a better person. With a character so smart that she doesn't have much to learn, body size is stereotypically substituted for character development. Elisa uses her untried strategic knowledge to always-good effect. War is coming, and perhaps only Elisa's Godstone-and knowledge from the Belleza Guerra-can save them. With no warning, this fat, self-loathing princess is married off to a distant king and is embroiled in political and spiritual intrigue. She's a devout reader of holy books and is well-versed in the military strategy text Belleza Guerra, but she has been kept in ignorance of world affairs. He also whirls a major storm, flying bullets and a time loop into a wild climax that leaves Jacob poised for the sequel.Ī trilogy opener both rich and strange, if heavy at the front end.Īdventure drags our heroine all over the map of fantasyland while giving her the opportunity to use her smarts.Įlisa-Princess Lucero-Elisa de Riqueza of Orovalle-has been chosen for Service since the day she was born, when a beam of holy light put a Godstone in her navel. Though Jacob’s overdeveloped back story gives the tale a slow start, the pictures add an eldritch element from the early going, and along with creepy bad guys, the author tucks in suspenseful chases and splashes of gore as he goes. They are seen floating in the air, posing with a disreputable-looking Santa, covered in bees, dressed in rags and kneeling on a bomb, among other surreal images. The interspersed photographs-gathered at flea markets and from collectors-nearly all seem to have been created in the late 19th or early 20th centuries and generally feature stone-faced figures, mostly children, in inscrutable costumes and situations. The stories turn out to be true-but Jacob discovers that he has unwittingly exposed the sheltered “peculiar spirits” (of which he turns out to be one) and their werefalcon protector to a murderous hollowgast and its shape-changing servant wight. The brutal murder of his grandfather and a glimpse of a man with a mouth full of tentacles prompts months of nightmares and psychotherapy for 15-year-old Jacob, followed by a visit to a remote Welsh island where, his grandfather had always claimed, there lived children who could fly, lift boulders and display like weird abilities. Riggs spins a gothic tale of strangely gifted children and the monsters that pursue them from a set of eerie, old trick photographs. You can create your pumpkin another way this year using a stencil method. Since you might celebrate it only with the family, don't miss out on the fun. Halloween is just around the corner and you might be thinking about what to make for this year's decorations. What do you need to know about stencil making? When you start painting, make sure you paint the edges and go inward. If carving a blade seems too dangerous and you would like to try making these stenciled skulls with your kids, using paint and brush is also doable. This makes it easier for you to attach the stencil design for your Halloween pumpkin. It is better if you can find a pumpkin that has a flat bottom surface and not too roundy. Need to make sure that your tools are safe to use and wear gloves to prevent injuries. You can use a sharp knife if you don’t have a special blade to use for carving. How do you celebrate your loved ones that have passed away and teach your children about death? I would love to know. How to use stencil templates on a pumpkin? Dia de los Muertos presents a great opportunity to explain to them about death in a positive light and teach them the importance of celebrating life. This is a great way to remember them and to talk about them with my kids. We placed these on a table along with the picture of my grandmother and grandfather both of whom my kids did not get to meet.

When you actually play the game, you will realease that colours are not so psychedelic.Het is weer weekend, tijd voor een nieuwe update van de aanbiedingen in de Nintendo e-Shop. Please note, there is a problem with the screenshots, and they do not truly represent the in-game colours. All in all, a lovely game that will have you hooked for hours. Thankfully, that is turned off by default. My only gripe is the bland music that doesn't fit in with the game. Sound effects are excellent, with each type of brick having its own unique sound. Your ball is easy to spot, thanks to the black background. Graphics are colourful, and animation is very smooth. There are a lot of power-ups, and you have to be careful not to collect the 'Bad' power-ups be accident. The game can get very fast and furious, and it is so easy to miss a ball and lose a paddle. SUMMERY DX Ball is a addictive Breakout game, and you will find yourself coming back to it many times. Press F6 if you want to turn off the music. It seems to be a random choice which tune you will hear, but you can scroll through them by pressing F5 again. I found them poor, and thought that they detract from the game. If you want to hear in-game music, then simply press F5 to turn it on, but I don't recommend that. The music, however, is a different story. Bricks hiding power-ups have their own unique sound when hit. For example, pink bricks sound like glass when hit, and flashing bricks have a wonderful 'explosion' sound. Even hitting various bricks has different sound effects. I love the 'boing' as the ball hits the paddle, as well as the thud as it hits the roof. MUSIC & SOUND EFFECTS The sound effects for DX Ball are very impressive. Your score is shown at the top left, and the number of paddles you have left is shown at the top right. This makes it easier to avoid the ones you don't like. I liked how 'Good' power-ups are shown in blue, 'Bad' ones are in red, and 'Neutral' ones are shown in grey. Power-ups that fall down are very clear, and it is fun to try and catch them. The black background makes it easy to spot where the ball is, and the paddle moves very smoothly. GRAPHICS Graphics are very crisp and clear. Left-click to 'fire' the ball, or to fire lasers (if you have lasers on your paddle) at the bricks. The paddle is used to catch the ball, as well as collecting power-ups that fall down. Simply move your mouse left or right to move the paddle left or right. The game is controlled by mouse, so it is very easy to play. There are lots more, but I will let you discover them for yourself. As well as the usual Grow Paddle, Shrink Paddle (your paddle will grow or shrink), Grab Paddle (ball sticks to the paddle instead of bouncing), Split Ball (ball splits into two) and Slow Ball (ball slows down), there are also new power-ups such as Next Level (you jump straight to the next level), Lasers (guns are added to your paddle, so you can shoot bricks), Falling Bricks (bricks move closer to your paddle) and Thru Ball (ball cuts straight through all bricks in its path). There is a fantastic amount of power-ups (18 in total) - some good, and some bad. If you drop a ball, then you lose a valuable paddle (you begin with 3 paddles), and if you lose all your paddles, then the game is over. When all the bricks are cleared, then you can progress to the next level. You need to keep an eye on the ball though, as sometimes, going for a power-up will make you miss the ball and loose a paddle. Some bricks reveal power-ups when broken, and you can collect these power-ups simply by catching them with your paddle. Balls will bounce off walls, ceilings, other bricks, as well as your paddle. A paddle at bottom of the screen is used to 'fire' the balls, and you must keep your ball bouncing around the screen until all the bricks are broken. Flashing bricks will explode when hit, and gold bricks cannot be destroyed by a normal ball. Some bricks are invisible at first, and don't appear until you hit them for the first time. However, there are different types of bricks, which makes things a lot more interesting. The idea is to clear the screen of bricks by breaking them with your ball. It is based on an old Amiga game called MegaBall, and Michael has tried to keep an Amiga 'feel' to his game. GAME DX Ball is wonderful Breakout game created by Michael P Welch.
